Doane University has 4 different calendar systems.

Has two 16 week semester. Students normally take 15-17 semester credits during each of the regular terms. A few summer courses are offered.

Fall (Aug-Dec) - FAL
Spring (Jan-May) - SPR
Has five 8 week terms. Courses are offered in an eight-week intensive format. During the eight-week term, students attend one class session per week for each course in which they are enrolled. Flexible one week courses and online courses are also offered.

Winter I (Oct-Dec) - WIN1
Winter II (Jan-March) - WIN2
Spring (March-May) - SPRG
Summer (May-July) - SUMM
Graduate Studies in Education (including Master of Arts in Counseling)
Runs on a traditional semester calendar consisting of a fall and a spring term of 14 weeks each and one summer term with courses of varying lengths. Courses during the fall and spring terms generally meet one evening a week. Summer term classes are scheduled during the day, with meeting times determined by the number of days the course meets.

Summer (May-July) - EDSU
Courses are for non-degree seeking students and are offered in an eight-week intensive online format.
