Dr. Leon received his undergraduate civil engineering education from West Virginia University (WVU), and obtained his M.S. and Ph.D. in civil engineering from WVU in 2019 and 2021, respectively. He joined Doane University in 2021 as an Assistant Professor of engineering. He has been extensively involved with research on structural dynamics, nondestructive testing (NDT) methods, wave propagation, finite-element simulation and early-age concrete behavior. He currently conducts research in the areas of mass concrete and NDT methods using wave propagation. At Doane, Dr. Leon teaches courses in the civil engineering emphasis including Structural Concrete, Structural Steel, Intro to Geotechnical Engineering and Transportation Engineering. Other courses taught by Dr. Leon include Engineering Statics, Mechanics of Materials and Engineering Dynamics.
