Spring Commencement ceremony postponed to Sept. 20

Doane University President Dr. Jacque Carter announced today that Doane will be holding its postponed spring Commencement ceremony on Sunday, September 20. The university is currently planning on holding two ceremonies, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Commencement will be held at Cassel Open Air Theatre on the Crete campus.

The postponed Commencement ceremony to honor May 2020 graduates will be a coordinated effort to ensure a safe environment that allows for physical distancing. Doane will be consulting local public health officials while planning the event and will abide by any current restrictions in place set by the government.

The September 20th date was selected after receiving feedback from graduates in a survey that was sent from the university, in addition to consulting with other working groups on campus.

Graduates will be asked to RSVP to determine an approximate headcount for the event. More information and details will be shared with graduates this summer leading up to the fall ceremony.
