Meet the Hansen Leadership Program staff members who are working to empower students to contribute to a more socially responsible world with authenticity and conviction.

An alum from 2013, Quint graduated from Doane and got his masters degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in Educational Administration while working in Career Services.  From there he moved to Spokane, WA to work at Gonzaga University in Housing and Residence Life. Quint returned to work at Doane in 2018 and loves to see the way that the Doane community encourages student development.  Quint and his wife Caitlin, also an alum (2014) enjoy working on their home, serving their church and hosting others at their house.

The 2019 Outstanding New Professional from NASPA andrew has worked at doane University since 2016 specializing in student leadership development and volunteer programs. Andrew graduated from Central Michigan University '15 with a BA in Event Management and got his masters degree from the Ball State University '16 in Student Affairs Administration while working in student life. Brown is an active philanthropist and has helped raise $1 million for the American Cancer Society, $1 million for United Way and has built 20 homes in Xepatan, Guatemala. Andrew is passionate about empower students to achieve their potential. 

Hansen Leadership Advisory Board

The Hansen Leadership Advisory Board serves the Hansen Leadership Program and its various components, representing student ideas and concerns. 

 

Doane Serve Site Leaders

Doane Serve Site Leaders provide students the opportunity to serve their community, enhance their educational experience and develop into caring citizens. Students lead a group of 10 or more students to volunteer at local, national and global nonprofit organizations. 

 

Direction Mentors

The Direction Mentors help 32 students discover develop and direct their Gallup Strengths towards the 5 essential elements of wellbeing. 

History of Hansen Leadership Program

In 1994, Doane University received a 3-year grant from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation which expanded the leadership efforts to create a Leadership Academy and allowed for the construction of a Challenge (ropes) course on Doane's campus. In 1997, the Zenon C.R. Hansen Foundation endowed the Leadership Program at Doane University.
